The Banyamulenge are undergoing genocide and the world is silent. Our voices matter; your voice can save lives.

Who are the Banyamulenge?

The Banyamulenge people constitute one of many tribes of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Research has demonstrated that the ancestors of the Banyamulenge migrated to the DRC four centuries ago. Experts say that they originated from different African countries including Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.

Morevover, further studies have revealed that Banyamulenge first lived in a place called Mulenge, before they were established in the high plateau of Itombwe, chosen for its good pastures for grazing and fertile land to cultivate crops.
